Ultralaps are thin polyestyer plastic (mylar) discs having a uniform layer of graded polishing compound. They are easy, simple, and clean to use. A thin film of water can hold them in place on any fine grain, smooth, or worn lap for polishing facets. A feathering adhesive can be used to attach the discs to a rubber backed disk for polishing cabochons. Those labeled "PSA" already have a pressure sensitive adhesive to hold the disc in place...all you have to do is peel off the paper backing and apply to a clean surface. SPECTRA (a blue colored disc) has a high purity optical cerium for its polishing medium to provide a better and faster polish. The discs are not sold separately, but come 5 discs to a package.
